California Prop 65

Warning icon WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm - www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

Why am I seeing "Prop 65" warnings associated with some products on your web site?

We have included the warnings in compliance with California's Proposition 65. They do not necessarily mean that these products will cause cancer or reproductive harm, and we are simply providing the warnings to California residents in accordance with California law.

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 refers to the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, a California law that applies to all companies selling products to California residents. Proposition 65 requires a warning if a product potentially contains any listed chemical, even at extremely low levels. Proposition 65's warning standards are among the most stringent in the world, and California residents see Prop 65 warnings on a wide variety of products they purchase every day. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a ''right-to-know'' law.

There are over 800 naturally occurring and man-made chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency.
